Located in the heart of Downtown Ward 7—where Minnesota Avenue NE meets Benning Road NE—the corridor is one of the largest and most historically significant commercial districts east of the Anacostia River.

This vibrant area is home to cultural and architectural landmarks such as the Art Deco Senator Theater and the newly renovated Dorothy I. Height Library, named in honor of the trailblazing civil and women’s rights leader. The neighborhood is undergoing a wave of reinvestment and renewal, with developments like the Park 7 mixed-use complex and enhancements to the Minnesota Avenue Metro station shaping a bright future for the corridor.
